CHOOSING WIGS THAT WILL SUIT YOUR STYLE

Home / Blog / Choosing wigs that will suit your style

There are hundreds and hundreds of wigs out there, but not all of them suit each person. It’s important to choose a wig which will suit you because if it doesn’t suit you, your image won’t look good either. So here we’ll introduce some tips for you to choose the right wig!

Type of hair

  • Straight hair: Human hair straight wig is always straight even after the wig has been washed many times. However, synthetic straight hair can change its texture depending on how much it’s been styled and products applied to it. Also, human hair wigs have a natural and soft touch and feel and appear healthier than synthetic wigs do. The biggest disadvantage of human hair is that it needs more delicate care than synthetic hair.
  • Curly hair: It’s just like the name says, it has beautiful and natural curls which look very feminine.  Often you can choose whether your wig is curly or not by yourself depending on how naturally curly your own hair is. If you want to create soft waves with a curling iron, I recommend buying human hair wigs because usually they only need to be heated once, whereas with synthetic wigs you will need to continually heat them up again if you don’t wash them for over one month (and using heating tools can damage the hot melt glue). The biggest disadvantage of human hair is that it needs more delicate care than synthetic hair.
  • Wavy hair: Human hair wavy wigs are more expensive than straight wigs because there are many processes of making the hair wavy. Also, human hair wavy wigs have a natural and soft touch and feel and appear healthier than synthetic wigs do. However, sometimes you can’t choose whether your wig is curly or not by yourself depending on how naturally curly your own hair is.
  • Curly bob (short with curls): It’s very easy for this type of wig to tangle, so make sure to use a special brush made for curling wigs if you want them to last long.
  • Ombre color: The roots are darker than the tips which creates a gradient that looks like it fades into another color (but actually it’s just mixed together). This kind of wig is very popular because you can create an ombre without dyeing your own hair by yourself.
  • Wavy lace front bob: The wig has wavily glued on top of the wig, so it looks more natural than curly bob (short with curls) and curl tip wigs.
  • Curly French braid lace front bob: It’s just like the name says, it has beautiful natural-looking braids all over the head which look very feminine. For this kind of wig to last long make sure to use a special brush made for curling wigs if you want them to last long because the artificial hair would tangle easily.

Parting space
Parting space means how much hair is left out on the front side of the head in case your wig doesn’t have parting space.

  • No parting space: This creates a very natural look when wearing the wig, but even if you wear glasses it will be hard to see because there are no visible parts. Also, you will have to use more styling products on the hair so that it covers up the partings between each strand of hair, or else you’ll see where they’ve been sewn together.

– It’s popular with people who want to do cute hairstyles such as high ponytails and buns.

  • Invisible part: This leaves 1cm-2cm (0,4in-0,8in) out on both sides creating a natural-looking part that looks like it’s growing out of the hair and is very good with hairstyles such as high ponytails and buns.
  • Side part: This leaves more hair on the side of the head than what it does in the back, creating a natural-looking part that looks like it’s growing out of the hair and is good for people who want to do cute hairstyles such as high ponytails and buns.
  • Middle part: This creates an obvious line about 10cm (4in) from your real hair parting even if you wear glasses too because there are no other parts between them unless you dye them yourself. This type of wig is popular with Korean celebrities because it gives off a sexy style~

Hair length
Hair length is measured from the top of your head to the end of the hair, and there are many differences between wigs depending on whether they’re long or short.

  • Short bob (about 5cm (2in)): It looks like a chin-length bob cut wig, but as you can see it still has long enough hair that it covers part of your ears which makes them look more natural. The disadvantage with this type is that if your wig isn’t sewn together firmly then it’s easy for you to lose balance when walking around because the weight is concentrated in one place rather than being evenly distributed throughout your whole body. Also if your outfit doesn’t have sleeves then part of your arms would be bare.
  • Bob (about 10cm (4in)): This is a wig that’s just about as long as your neck and it’s tied to the side, so it’s easy to wear even if you have short arms or long arms. It looks great with outfits such as outer coats and blazers because of how natural the length is.
